Glossary
Glossary for East Coast Labs record language.
Use this page as a quick reference for the documentation, release, and handling terms that appear across East Coast Labs product records.
COA
Certificate of Analysis. On East Coast Labs, a COA is a product-owned PDF attached to the exact catalog record. It supports that record's documented batch and release context rather than serving as a catalog-wide quality claim.
Purity result
The reported analytical purity value shown for a specific East Coast Labs record when that batch information has been entered. It should be read with the method label and release context, not as a standalone badge.
Identity
A record-level statement that the product's identity has been analytically supported. East Coast Labs expresses identity through the documented method rather than through broad marketing language.
RP-HPLC
Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. East Coast Labs uses RP-HPLC terminology to identify the method used to report a purity result for a specific record.
LC-MS
Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. On East Coast Labs, LC-MS appears as identity-method language when mass alignment or identity confirmation has been documented for that product record.
Batch / lot
The batch or lot reference that ties a product record to a documented release. It helps distinguish one release from another and should align with any attached COA or supporting record document.
Analysis date
The date the referenced analytical work was performed for the documented product record.
Release date
The date the documented batch was cleared for release on the East Coast Labs catalog record.
Documentation status
The visible state of record-level documentation on a product page, such as attached COA, supporting documents, structured release fields, or intentionally unfilled items that remain missing until evidence is attached.
Reference document
A product-owned supporting document attached to a record outside of a COA. It may add handling, release, or record context, but it is not automatically equivalent to a Certificate of Analysis.
Storage note
The storage or handling instruction published against a specific East Coast Labs record. Product-level storage notes take priority over broad guide language.
Research-use-only
The operating context for the East Coast Labs storefront. Products are listed for in vitro research use only, and the guide layer does not provide human-use, dosing, or therapeutic instructions.
Use the glossary in context
Glossary terms are most useful when read alongside the product record, the documentation guides, and the support routes that explain ordering, shipping, and record-specific questions.
